Fri, 25 Apr 2008 11:26:31
At least eleven Iraqis, including women and children, have been killed and 32 others wounded in a US-led operation in Baghdad's Sadr City.
The casualties included four old men, two women and a child, a medical official told AFP on Friday.
The wounded were also women and children, the official added.
US-led forces have been launching attacks against mainly Shia neighborhoods of Baghdad and southern Iraqi cities which are believed to be stronghold of the supporters of anti-US Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr-since March 25.
Since then at least 383 people have been killed in Sadr City, according to an AFP tally based on casualty figures provided by Iraqi and US officials.
